Bontril™

Generic Name: phendimetrazine

Bontril is one of the most popular branded versions of the generic drug phendimetrazine.

Bontril is prescribed for obese patients who need help with their weight loss. The active ingredient (phendimetrazine) in Bontril acts upon the central nervous system with the effect of reduced appetite. This appetite suppressant should be used as a supplement to regular exercise and a controlled diet.

Bontril is available in both "instant-release" and "slow release" tablets.

Bontril PDM – instant release

Bontril Dosage

1 tablet (35mg) 2-3 times daily.

To be taken 1 hour before meal times

Do not take Bontril just before bed as it may cause insomnia.

Discuss with your doctor the correct dosage for you. It may be that half a dosage (17.5mg) is sufficient. No more than three 35mg dosages should be taken daily.

Bontril Slow Release Dosage

Bontril slow release contains 105mg of the active ingredient phendimetrazine. This is the equivalent of 3 x Phendimetrazine 35mg. Bontril slow release has been shown to take effect as quickly as a standard "non slow release" Phendimetrazine 35mg but has a prolonged therapeutic effect.

One capsule should be taken daily, in the morning, 1 hour before breakfast.

Never, chew, crush or split Bontril Slow Release capsules.
